Manila by Motor: Scenic Roads Near Manila Ideal for Motorcycle Rides

There is nothing compared to the experience of feeling the wind in your hair while zooming through breathtaking scenes like the mountains and seas. Not to mention, the ability to get anywhere faster with less money spent on gas. That is why it is no surprise as over 1.4 million residents registered their motorbikes since 2015.

While Manilenos love to plan quick getaways and road trips to nearby provinces, sometimes you just need to go for a ride near town to explore and rediscover what provinces near Manila has to offer. So, if you’re up for a spur-of-the-moment road trip without going too far, these nearby destinations are within an hour or two away.

Talisay Road, Tagaytay

Looking for a scenic mountain road that’s closer than Baguio? A trip to Tagaytay might sound “too common,” but it is the perfect route for a quick ride from Manila. It takes around an hour to drive through the South Luzon Expressway, finishing at the Santa Rosa- Tagaytay road. If you’re not up for the narrow roads, the C5 Extension through Bacoor also features a winding, open route. As an additional detour, you can head back to Manila by riding through Ligaya Drive to pick up some fresh fruits and pasalubong from the local farms.

Infanta, Quezon

When Tagaytay is overcrowded, Marilaque road is a scenic route that allows you to ride at your own pace. The highway traverses through several provinces, stretching to 110-kilometers. This makes it the best alternative ride that provides the thrill at lower speeds. Winding through the Sierra Madre mountains and passing through Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon, there are also iconic cafes and inns where you can stop by during the trip. If you prefer a picturesque view with great food, the Cafe Katerina offers their Rizal special bulalo, pork sisig, and more.

Nasugbu, Batangas

If you want to extend your trip to Tagaytay, why not visit another well-loved riding destination nearby? Batangas is home to some of Manila’s historical spots such as the Taal Heritage town and Taal Volcano. There you will pass through ancestral houses and structures from the 19thcentury. Another reason why Riders love Batangas is for its calm beaches and coastal towns like Nasugbu, Laiya, and Calatagan.

What’s more, add the North Luzon Loop to your ultimate rider’s bucket list. The infamous 1,200 + km ride loops the main highways on the island of Luzon, giving you the best scenes along the country road.

While the busy streets of Manila may be a challenge to navigate for motorcycle riders, the wide streets and scenic views of nearby provinces offer a better joy ride. The next time you’re itching for a quick getaway on your motorbike, try going to any of these destinations for an enjoyable and hassle-free trip.
