The fact that you just bought your new home should be a dead giveaway that you need to update your address but you’d be surprised at how many people make changing their address the last thing on their to-do list. Changing your address is very important.

When it comes to your family, safety is key. You don’t want anyone walking around with the key to your home, even if it’s “just the realtor” that has it. Get a Throne Just for You: Swap Toilet Seats

You, of course, can just disinfect and wipe down your toilet seat really good but somewhere in the back of your mind, you’ll be wondering what happened in the bowl before you got there! Changing your toilet seat will just put your mind at ease and truly make you feel like the toilet is truly yours. Don’t Do It Alone: Hire Professionals

There are some people who are “DIYers” and then there are some who are not “DIYers” but still think they can do the job of a professional. This is where a lot of people go wrong with their new homes.

New homeowners feel like, in order for their home to be custom to them, they have to do everything themselves. If they don’t like the flooring that came with the house, they tackle the job on their own. Please don’t do that. If you want the whole interior of your home painted, please hire professional painters.

Painting and flooring are major home renovations that if you don’t know how to properly execute those tasks, then you need to hire people that know how because they’re not easy tasks. Plus, with it being a new home, any renovations you want to be done to it, you want it to look professionally done, right? Of course, so leave it up to the professionals.

A Good Wipe Down: Clean Your Cabinets and Closets

One thing people don’t really think about is cleaning the insides of your closets, cabinets, and drawers. If you give your closets and cabinets a thorough wipe-down before you move everything in, it can only take a couple minutes to get done. Now, once you move everything in and then try to wipe things don, it becomes more time-consuming having to remove things off the shelves and out of cabinets.

Also, when you wipe down these cabinets and drawers, it’s helpful if you insert liners in your drawers and cabinets. It acts as a protector from the harsh surfaces and works great for plates and glasses.
