all you need is pagibig

It is a Filipino Christmas tradition to watch the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2015) during December. Regardless of whether the set of movies are good or bad, you still go to the cinemas because it is a great family activity this Holiday.

There are eight competing films this 2015. There’s All You Need Is Pag-Ibig and Walang Forever for people looking for a romantic movie this Holiday season. Films, My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore and Beauty and the Bestie for those who wants a good laugh. While, Haunted Mansion, Nilalang, Buy Now, Die Later, are horror movies for thrill seekers. For someone who loves drama, there’s Honor Thy Father.

If you are torn between these movies and want to watch a film that is worth your 200 PHP without feeling heavy or scared after, All You Need Is Pag-Ibig is the movie you should first see. It is a romantic-comedy anthology about different kinds of love as experienced by different people.

Here are the reasons you should never miss this MMFF movie:

It is directed by Antoinette Jadaone.

Jadaone is one of the most promising movie directors in the industry today. Since her blockbuster movie, That Thing Called Tadhana, we have seen so many hits from her: You’re My Boss, On the Wings of Love, The Breakup Playlist and more. If you want to veer away from nonsensical romance movies, it her movies you got to watch.

It’s funny, entertaining, and dramatic all in one.

There is just so many emotions you feel while watching the movie. It is not just romantic, but it is also funny and entertaining. Seeing that the movie is made for Filipino audience, there’s still a tinge of family drama to attract wider audience. All You Need is Pag-Ibig is a movie that will never bore you.

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim are perfect with each other.

Miss the Kim Chiu you loved in Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo? Well, she is back and she left her huge glasses and frizzy hair behind! Kim Chiu is so funny, you can’t see any actor portraying Anya as good as her. The chemistry between her in Xian Lim is striking, even non-KimXi fans would adore them.

Jodi Sta. Maria and Ian Veneracion are full of kilig-factor.

Anyone of you thinks that Jodi and Ian should have their own movie together? We do! And All You Need is Pag-Ibig just amplifies our craving for an AmoRado/Jodian movie.

nova villa- ronaldo valdez dance

Nova Villa and Ronaldo Valdez over-throws other love teams.

Senior love is not exempted in the film and Nova Villa and Ronaldo Valdez is the best couple to represent the eternal love of our parents and grandparents. Their characters are so lovable and their scene at the end is something even teenagers will appreciate.

Anyone, in-love or broken-hearted, can relate to it.

The All You Need is Pag-Ibig shows all forms of love, hence any one can relate to this Filipino movie. Even if you you’re a member of SMP or NBSB, you can still appreciate the movie.

There are so many #Hugotlines.

This is a movie about love; of course there are plenty of hugot lines! Our favorite? “Kung kinakati ka, kamutin mo mag-isa!” It’s so funny we cannot miss putting it in here.

Great music is seamlessly woven within the story.

Aside from the LSS-inducing theme song of the movie, sang by Yeng Constantino, there are also plenty of great music played within the movie. The one we love the most is Bilanggo by Rizal Underground.  Jadaone said that she “can’t have a karaoke session without it (Bilanggo) on my playlist” that is why she pushed it to be part of the movie. We are so happy she did because it was one of the sweetest scenes we’ve ever seen in Filipino rom-coms.
